About Us
Hi! We’re Mary & Maria
We founded SPARC to help sports and outdoor brands tell compelling stories, build authentic communities, and create unforgettable events. After leading marketing and communications teams in the outdoor industry, we combined our strengths in 2020 to turn our shared passion for movement and storytelling into impact.
Mary brings 20 years of experience, including senior roles at Strava and Running Specialty Group. As an RRCA-certified race director and founder of Active Brand Consulting, she’s helped brands connect with their audiences and spark inspiration—on and off the course.
Maria brings 14 years in brand development, marketing, and media production. A writer, photographer, and videographer, she has worked with marquee events such as Big Sur and the NYC Marathon. As a multi-sport athlete, she lives to push her limits and help others do the same.
